If we had a philosophy (we don’t – we’re far too relaxed to maintain one of those), it would be to ask of every dish; is it seasonal? Is it local? If not, why not? Next we ask, is this going to make a cracking lunch for someone, and will they go out of their way to come back for more?

When you eat at The Bank Tavern, you will be presented with a menu that mixes elements of traditional pub classics combined with an eclectic mix of contemporary dishes and flavours from around the world.


We reckon we have one of the best pub burgers in Bristol, and on Sundays you will find a menu that would not be out of place at a fine dining establishment all served up with a down to earth demeanour.

Our Daily Menu


Our new Spring lunch menu is now live and served daily from midday to 4pm (Monday to Saturday), serving seasonal delights such as the new roast vegetable sandwich with sun blushed tomato pesto, goats cheese & spinach, as well as the roast chicken club, smoked streaky bacon with dijon mayonnaise (all sandwiches are served with homemade fries, salad garnish with house dressing).  Don’t worry the 21 day dry aged beef burger with house fries, thick cut bacon, cheese, dill pickle and house sauce is still there!

All our ingredients are, wherever possible locally sourced by our Chef & his team and seasonally adjusted whenever possible.  We use Hobbs Bakery bread and burger buns as well as sourcing from local butchers. We always try to cater for special dietary requirements so please speak to our bar team if you have any questions about the ingredients we use and any allergy information.

Sunday Roasts

Our legendary roasts have been the talk of the town for several years now and we were crowned the home of Bristol’s best Sunday Lunch at the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2019!

Serving from 12pm every Sunday, our roasts are plentiful and all ingredients sourced locally from trusted suppliers in and around Bristol. We also offer vegetarian and gluten free options, as well as our classic meat offerings.


Please note that children and children requiring a high chair count as a seat when booking. We are a small venue and cannot accommodate unexpected extra guests on the day!

Be warned you will forfeit your booking if you bring more guests than shown on your reservation!!
