If we had a philosophy (we don’t – we’re far too relaxed to maintain one of those) it would be to ask of every dish; is it seasonal? Is it local? If not, why not? Next we ask, is this going to make a cracking lunch for someone and will they go out of their way to come back for more?
If you choose to eat at The Bank Tavern you will be presented with a menu that holds elements of pub tradition combined with a rather eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional dishes from around the world. We are responsible for perhaps the best burger in Bristol and every Sunday you will find a menu that would not be out of place at a fine dining establishment, but served up with a down to earth demeanour.
Everyday from 12pm to 4pm
We have thought long and hard about how to pick up bookings after the lockdown and hope the solution they have come up with will satisfy everyone.
The Bank Tavern has restarted roasts.
Sadly due to new, limited seating, some guests will have to have their bookings moved, but we are in the process of sorting alternative seating arrangements in order to facilitate this.
Please note, your child counts as one of your six. If you require a child seat, you must let us know before your booking so we can seat you accordingly.
For those who had to miss their bookings during the lockdown, these will be honoured. Please wait for an email or phone call from us to arrange this. We have someone working one day a week contacting all our customers and we appreciate your patience.
Our award-winning lunch is served daily from midday to 4pm, serving seasonal delights such as our popular vegetarian dish: charred wye valley asparagus, jersey royals, crispy poached egg, pink peppercorn vinaigrette and mixed leaf to our classic buttermilk fried free-range chicken breast burger with roasted garlic & parsley mayo. Don’t forget to look out for our specials board too!
All our ingredients are locally sourced where available and we are happy to cater for dietary requirements where possible.
Our legendary roasts have been the talk of the town for several years now and we were recently crowned the home of Bristol’s best Sunday Lunch at the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2019!
Serving from 12pm every Sunday, our roasts are plentiful and all ingredients sourced locally from trusted suppliers in and around Bristol. We also offer vegetarian options as well as our classic meat offerings.
